Toyota launched the third generation of the Toyota Avensis at the Geneva Motor Show 2009 and the new gen went on sales at the beginning of 2010. The Toyota Avensis 2010 model is available in two different body types: sedan – to be debuted first – and station wagon .
Although the second generation brought the car brand a lot of benefits including the European Car of the Year award in 2004 and 156,000 sold units after its launch. Avensis design is wiping and has its own dynamism. But the third generation will change their mind as it features a more ascending and dynamic sideline, a new grille and big head lights curved along the corners.
There is no problem with Avensis technical part, so the car brand remains the engine lineup from its predecessor which is a diesel and a petrol engine. However, Toyota likely wanted to pamper this car as it added a hybrid version and an FWD variant at the same year of the launch.
The petrol engine includes the 2.0 and 2.4 direct injection, 1.8 VVT-i and 1.6 VVT-i. The diesel is the D-4D with a capacity of dishing out 125 hp. The Avensis whirs from 0-100km/h in a neck-snapping 10 seconds before topping out at 125 mph.
